The Parish of Doncaster comprises also the hamlets or disricts of Balby, Carr House, Elmfield, Hexthorpe, Langthwaite, Tylse, and Wheatley. The Chapelry of Loversall was within the Soke of Doncaster and most of the marriages of Loversall people were celebrated at the Parish Church of Doncaster, though at the time of the Parliamentary Return of 1831 Loversall had a separate set of Registers beginning in 1703. These are said to have been maliciously burnt about February 1844. Only one hundred and fifty printed.
